Valued-added functionality includes a "velocity" control to limit how many checks a client will accept from the same checking account in a defined period of time. Velocity is one of the reason codes for a "NO" response to enable clients to decide if all "NO" responses are not to be accepted. As an example a "NO(N)" indicates an unpaid NSF check, or checks in the database, while a "NO(C)" warns of a closed account.
