Expanded online services makes site a central processing hub for all returned checks

This follows the announcement last month that the popular check recovery web site had added online collections for all returned checks.

Merchants who take personal checks want to protect themselves from accepting checks that are likely to bounce. But at the same time they do not want to deny a purchase to someone who has made good on a bounced check which the verification database has not yet acknowledged, because that is a sure way to irritate or even lose a customer. Speed and accuracy are key issues. JU$TCHEX can shave valuable days off the update process through process efficiencies and automation.

Currently the site supports clients of SCAN, NCN and other leading providers. The site can also accommodate companies that use internal proprietary negative file databases. Check verification is a point of purchase service that verifies checks you might accept from a customer. Checks are verified against a database that contains millions of negative records and millions of positive records against which a check will be confirmed. If the account number corresponds to a problem account (an account where checks have bounced and not been repaid) the merchant/client is notified through the system response.

Collection agencies working with JU$TCHEX are now able to take advantage of the electronic handling of check data throughout the recovery and collections process. As a result they are able to provide better reporting and pay more to their clients for better retention without any negative impact on their margins thanks to improved productivity and lowered operating costs.
