JUSTCHEX Mobile Phone Check Verification Breaks Barriers
The new chexmessagingSM service works with the text messaging function on any mobile phone without any required software or equipment to instantly verify funds and check writer history
Oxnard, CA; August 30, 2004 - JUSTCHEX, LLC, ("JU$TCHEX") the
technology leader in online processing of returned checks for
payment, announced today that it is now providing wireless access (http://chexmessaging.com)
to funds verification services delivered through the text messaging
functions found on the most common mobile phones. This patent
pending business solution is being offered nationally.
"All that´s required is that a mobile phone is registered on our web
site, that´s it, no specific model of phone and no software",
according to Richard McShirley of JU$TCHEX. "We have no limit to how
many phones a client can register and the online reporting comes
listed by phone instantaneously to manage compliance."
ChexmessagingSM is available to clients of JU$TCHEX, as well as the
clients of any other check recovery or collections company. Clients
that are not interested in changing their existing check recovery
provider are not required to do so to enjoy the front-end loss
prevention that chexmessagingSM offers.
Checks written against closed accounts or from repeat offenders are
by far the most difficult to collect. In most delivery and other
mobile businesses they can amount to 25-30% of the overall returns.
As a direct benefit to weeding out these "worst" checks clients
should significantly improve their overall collection rates, with
less time and effort.
The service inquires in real-time about the status of personal,
business, or payroll checks. The client enters the routing and
account number on the key pad of their phone and within seconds the
system queries combined databases that include up to 200 million
check writer accounts and replies with a result.
When the system receives a message from a registered number their
message request is processed and the result is returned to their
phone screen. There is a small service fee per response. The system
replies include "YES" for an open, funded account; "NO" for a closed
account, repeat offender or a negative balance account. Details of
all responses are also instantly added to the client´s reporting
list on the web site as a cross reference.
Valued-added functionality includes velocity control. This limits
how many checks a client will accept from the same checking account
in a client-defined period of time. Reason codes associated with
"NO" responses enable a client to decide if all "NO" responses are
not to be accepted. As an example "NO (N)" indicates outstanding
non-sufficient funds check in the database.
The company plans to add a check guarantee service utilizing
chexmessagingSM in the fourth quarter of this year.
